Edsleskogs church

The construction of the new church in Edsleskog began in 1902 when the old church burned to the ground. The church was consecrated in 1905. Only two wooden figures depicting Moses and Aaron were saved from the old church, as well as two pewter candlesticks, a crucifix, a chasuble and a framed priest's length. The parish also owns Charles XII's Bible.

Edsleskogs old church

Edsleskogs old church was built in the early 13th century in connection with the Pope's canonization of Edsleskogs priest Nicolaus, who had been murdered. A three-nave cross church, built in stone. "With its high spire, it was not far behind Skara Cathedral" someone has written. After two fires in 1568 and 1902, it was finally demolished when the new church was built. The original walls of the church are today marked in the old cemetery along with a memorial stone. The cemetery, which is still in use, is surrounded by a cold wall with a path gate from 1769.
