The historic dance hall Sandgrund is now an art gallery, and showcases the work of local artist Lars Lerin. The art gallery will be closed for renovation during weeks 2-4 of 2025.

The popular artist has received requests from many quarters, but took a liking to the Sandgrund building, which is located in the middle of a cultural district, close to the city centre and in a beautiful natural environment. The art gallery is next door to Värmlands Museum and Sandgrundsparken, and there is a shop with a range of postcards, posters and books that are only available at the art gallery. There is also a café that is open every day when the art gallery is open and in the summer an outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the river Klarälven.

Lars Lerin was born in 1954 in Munkfors. He studied at Gerlesborgsskolan 1974-75 and at the art school in Gothenburg 1980-84. Lars Lerin is considered to be one of the foremost watercolour artists in Scandinavia, and has had exhibits in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Germany and USA.
