Smaalenene bridge is one of the landmarks in the Indre Østfold region
The bridge is 315 metres, and the tip of the tower rises 88 meters above the water level in the Glomma, Norway's longest river, which flows under. E18 goes over the bridge with 4-lane motorway bridge. The bridge is a very special sight, with 14 inclined cables on each side of the large tower. This gives the bridge its characteristic harp shape.
The bridge is a cable-stayed bridge and was opened on 23 November 2010.
The main contractor for the construction was German Bilfinger Berger.
The name Smaalenene bridge came about after a local naming competition.
